O Centro de Biologia Molecular e Ambiental, organizou o Curso avançado "Plasma membrane transporters: physiology, genetics and phylogeny - 3rd ed"
SCOPE OF THE COURSE
The course has been organized for post-graduation students or researchers who are dedicated to the broad field of the study of the transport of solutes of all kinds in any biological material. It will provide seminars and lectures on very diverse aspects of transport-dedicated research as well as computer and laboratory classes on diverse methodologies commonly used to study transport systems, their function, phylogeny and molecular structure.
TOPICS
The following topics will be covered: cellular transport mechanisms, kinetics and energetics; transport mechanisms characterisation, gene expression and regulation; carriers and channels in yeast, animal and plant cells; biogenesis of transport proteins, trafficking of plasma membrane proteins along the endocytic pathway; structural-functional analysis of transporters; the role of transporters in resistance to multiple drugs and stress response; phylogenetic classification of transporter proteins.
